This course will take an in depth look at building solid artificial and natural anchors in a safe and efficient manner.
We will look at rock and natural feature assessment, effective ground, top rope, and multi-pitch anchors, equipment selection, application, and correct usage.
Both the novice and expert will come away with many new skills at the end of this one day course.
Topics Covered:
• Creating quality load-sharing anchors.
• Creating anchors using natural and artificial components.
• Single and multi-pitch anchor construction and evaluation.
• Rock and natural features evaluation.
• Fixed gear evaluation: bolts, pitons, slings, and stoppers.
• A detailed look at artificial gear placements.
• Climbing equipment construction, properties, limitations, and uses.
• Common myths and legends about climbing equipment.
